Private Pilot — Helicopter

Earn your Private Pilot Certificate with a Rotorcraft–Helicopter rating and learn the fundamentals of safely operating a helicopter. Training includes: Helicopter flight controls and aerodynamics Preflight inspections and aircraft systems Hovering and hover taxi Normal and crosswind takeoffs and landings Airport and traffic-pattern operations Navigation and cross-country flight planning Radio communications Weather and aeronautical decision-making Emergency procedures Autorotations Confined-area and pinnacle operations, as appropriate Preparation for the FAA knowledge and practical tests Students receive both ground and flight instruction while developing the skills and judgment necessary to operate helicopters safely.
